Nuclear winter

Despite signs of spring, it began snowing again last night. Temperatures have dropped sharply, yet another grim factor for the estimated half a million now without homes and all the incredible people working in relief efforts.

The area I’m in continues to be comparatively fortunate, as by all accounts we’re far enough from the Fukushima plant to not be in any immediate danger on that front. Still, nuclear power has never seemed like a particularly wise idea, and now less so than ever.
